The Center Economic Development leadership team is:
John Snider has served on the EDC Board for the past 10 years and this is his third year as being the Board President. Mr. Sider is currently the Vice Chairman and CEO of Shelby Savings Bank in Center following a 40 year career in the banking industry. Mr. Snider has been very involved in State and Federal banking associations. He attended Howard Payne University, earning a BA in Political Science with a History minor.
Mark Ivey has served on the EDC Board for 8 years and is the Board Vice-President. Mr. Ivey was promoted to the position of Bank President of Texas State Bank in Center in 2001. He also serves on the board of the Shriners Hospital for Children in Galveston, Texas. He and his wife Janet have lived in Center since 1981.
David Chadwick, a lifelong resident of Center, also serves the City as its Mayor. Mr. Chadwick has been on the EDC Board for the past five years and is the Board Secretary. He has been the Bank President of Farmers State Bank in Center since 2007 after working for the bank for over 40 years. Mayor Chadwick earned a BBA from Baylor University.
Bill Lloyd was nominated to an open position on the Board in 2012. Mr. Lloyd is the CEO of Port-A-Cool, LLC headquartered in Center.
City Manager Chad Nehring also serves as the EDC Director Chad Nehring. Chad has held this position since 2001 upon his appointment as City Manager. Chad received his Bachelor and Masters degrees from Texas A&M.
James P. Gibson has served as the Economic Development Coordinator for the Center EDC since March 2011.
