Emerge Business Assistance Program

The EMERGE program was created by the Center Economic Development Corporation to assist entrepreneurs start up and grow new businesses in Center.  The EDC is actively seeking entrepreneurs to participate in the program.

Qualifications

Applicants must display the potential to make a significant impact to the community, have received some form of business training, be committed to the business, and agree to create at least 20 new jobs within 5 years.

Local service businesses (e.g. personal services, retail establishments, auto mechanic shops, etc.) are not eligible to participate.

Benefits

The EMERGE program will reimburse participants on a quarterly basis depending upon job creation/retention targets.  The total award and schedule is dependent upon the merits of each application.

Entry/Exit

Persons wishing to apply for the EMERGE program must complete an application and participate in an interview.  The application is then forwarded to the Center EDC Board for approval and entry into the program.

The participant must agree to regular quarterly meetings in order to receive their assistance.  The participant must also agree to other conditions set forth in the program.

If the business reaches their 5 year milestone, then they graduate the program.  If the business is sold or transferred or moves outside of Center, then the business leaves the program.
